Volunteers are the lifeblood of Friends of India Point Park. With no paid staff, the more volunteers we have, the better we can maintain, improve, and advocate for the park.

Please join us by signing up to help in one or more of the areas below. It’s fun, collegial, and rewarding: you get to see the results of your efforts whenever you’re in the park! If you’re new to town, it’s a great way to get to know people.

Gardening

Our Adopt-a-Spot program organizes small groups of volunteers to weed, prune, mulch, and plant native species in different areas of the park. You can learn a lot too, working with our landscape designer and experienced gardeners.

Eyes on the Park

Our graffiti patrol encourage people to enjoy, appreciate, and respect the park. We paint over graffiti when we can and work with the parks department to get large tags removed. We also help collect litter and report fallen branches and damaged equipment.

Social Media

Help us enhance FIPP’s presence among our internet followers, park users, and the general public through Instagram and Facebook, as well as email, website and newsletters.

Outreach

We need FIPP representatives to work with government agencies, particularly the Providence Park Department,  and several other citizen groups.

Events

Help us run fun events such photo contests, bird walks, art shows, and walking tours that help people discover, celebrate, and enjoy the park.

Fundraising

Help us with fundraising appeals and writing proposals.

Playground Committee

Help us form a group of parents to organize a story hour for kids, a treasure hunt to find fun objects on the award-winning mosaic mural, and a committee to pick up litter and report any problems at the playground.
