OVERHEAD POWER LINES WOULD DOMINATE NEW WATERFRONT GREENWAY

Current public works projects will create a continuous waterfront greenway between East Providence and Waterplace Park. If relcated above ground, the power lines would dominate the greenway both in India Point Park and at either end of it where they would cross the Seekonk and Providence Rivers.

The new wires would be lower--and would still dominate the view.

The wires over the Providence River would overshadow visitors mingling on the riverwalks leading to Heritage Harbor (far right). The museum is expected to attract 300,000 visitors a year.
