Power lines News!
RI Supreme Court has ordered mediation on May 13 between Providence,
FIPP, National Grid, and East Providence to discuss coming to an
agreement that would result in burying at least some of the power lines
using the $18 million that has been set aside for burial and perhaps
other funding. If mediation fails, the Court will hear the appeal this
fall that Providence and FIPP have filed to reverse the Siting Board's
decision to leave the lines overhead, which would result in their
dominating our signature waterfront for the foreseeable future.
