INDIA POINT PARK'S 30TH ANNIVERSARY

TILE MURAL DEDICATION AT THE NEW PLAYGROUND
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 12:30-3PM

Providence Journal article (9/20/04)

Thank you for joining us for refreshments, music, games, face painting, balloons, a tree planting,
and lots of fun at the new India Point Park Playground (foot of Gano Street.)

Designed by artists Mika Seeger and Peter Geisser, "Past Points" depicts the maritime and industrial history of the area, from 18th-century seaport days to immigration and transportation activity in the 19th and early 20th centuries. More than 500 community members helped to make thousands and thousands of clay tiles for the mural.

Special guests included music legend Pete Seeger, Tao Rodriguez-Seeger of The Mammals,
and Joyce Katzberg!
